On Saturday 11th February Capt. Paddy, Lucky and our carer Jason visited Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA), Cork Airport, for a flight in one of their aircraft over the Wild Atlantic Way. Well, so we thought!
We received a warm welcome when we arrived from the team and went through our flight details with Gerry Humphreys our pilot for the day. It was at this point it dawned on us that our flight was actually a 25-minute aerobatic flight in AFTA’s Slingsby T67 Firefly registered G-BWXV.
We strapped in and after take-Off Gerry put us through our paces with Loops, stall turns and barrel rolls, which we found very thrilling and exciting. Once back on the ground we gathered our thoughts and Capt Paddy and Lucky had their Logbooks completed.
We must thank Jenna, Mark, Gerry and all the team at AFTA for their kind donation of this flight towards our fundraising efforts through-out the year.
